The Testing Center is accessible in person and remotely. We are currently offering on-campus placement testing, instructor and proctored testing, please schedule your testing in RegisterBlast.  For TEAS testing you must schedule in ATI. You can call or email us with further questions.


The Testing Center administers a variety of services to support student success.

  • All testing services require a valid government issued picture ID.
  • Testing requires a distraction-free environment; food, beverages, cellphones or other technology devices, perfumes, and guests (including children) are not allowed in the testing area.

Course Placement

After completing the admission process, the next step is to receive a course placement. Please complete the Course Placement Evaluation Form and submit documentation to begin this process.

Proctoring Services

The testing center provides instructor make-up and online exams for current students and individuals attending other Minnesota State institutions with no charge. We proctor exams for individuals from non-Minnesota State institutions and other agencies for a $40 fee.

General Education Development (GED) Test

NHCC is a testing site for the GED Program. The test is computer based and timed specific to each test battery. Registration to schedule a test appointment is through MyGED.

College Level Examination Program (CLEP) Test

The CLEP test is a national program that allows students who have successfully completed challenging courses or relevant life/work experience to demonstrate knowledge of college-level subjects that could earn college credit.

Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)

TEAS is a timed, multiple choice exam evaluating your knowledge (particularly in areas like the Sciences) including but not limited to: Anatomy and Physiology, Life Science, Chemistry, Math, English and Language Usage, and Reading Comprehension. The exam is computer-based, and the NHCC Testing Center is a MANE testing site. All scheduling is done through the ATI website.

Testing Accommodations

The Testing Center offers services to students who need reasonable accommodations for testing. Students who request these services will need a referral from Access Services.
